Kisiizi falls. The falls are located in the highlands of kigezi western part of Uganda in the Rukungiri district. The falls have a very memorable historical event. The fall was acting as a place for the punishment to girls who could get pregnant before getting married, were thrown in that fall. But those who were lucky could swim and cross but the highest number couldn’t survive. According to the older people staying around these falls, they said it helped to promote morals to the young girls in Rukungiri and Kabale.
Whenever a girl could have sex at an earlier age and get pregnant the family members could escort her up to the top of the cliff and throw her to the fall, the all aim of doing this was to prevent young girls from getting pregnant at an early age before marriage. But later this event was stopped as a result of reducing the death because some girls never wanted to die alone so they could pull those ones who are pushing them on the top of the cliff. Everyone was asking himself what happened to the men who used to pregnant these ladies and it was discovered that it was inequality among the community

Traveling to the falls is accompanied by bird-watching. Presences of trees and water support the birds lining life, Kisiizi falls have a variety of birds because of food availability and the birds include African fire finch, blackhead weaver, black-winged red bishop, Gre crowned crane, gorilla trekking, wild animal’s tours and cultural experiences from the people around the falls come to know how they live and hear the local traditional stories. The forest walk is one of the activities you can do during your visit to the falls there is a forest around the falls and the valley where you can take short for memories, there is a hill around the fall that gives you a perfect view of the forest and the surrounding area.
